The Ork Boyz are the very essence of the Ork army in Warhammer 40,000. They are the most numerous, most enthusiastic, and most chaotic units in any Waaagh! (Ork Crusade).
💚 Ork Boyz: The Green Tide
The Ork Boyz are the typical troop unit ( Battleline ) and make up the bulk of the green flood that sweeps across the battlefield. They are not smart, but they are incredibly aggressive, robust and dangerous in large numbers.

Special rules:
Waaagh! (Army Ability): When an Ork player calls Waaagh! in a round, all of their units, including Boyz, gain huge bonuses in melee combat, often +1 to Strength and an extra attack. This is where they really shine.
Frenzied Charge: Built for close combat, Boyz often gain a bonus when charging into battle, making them the primary wave to hit enemy lines.
⚔️ Equipment and Weapons
Boyz are flexible and can either focus on melee combat or a mix of melee and shooting.
"Shoota" Boyz (Shooters): Equipped with Shootas (assault rifles). These provide a good amount of firepower and are useful for softening up the enemy before an attack.
"Slugga" and Choppa Boyz (Melee): Equipped with a Slugga (gun) and a Choppa (axe/sword). The Choppa often provides an extra, more powerful attack in melee. This is the most popular configuration.
Boyz Boss: Each unit is led by a more powerful Ork called a Boss Nob . This model can be equipped with stronger melee weapons such as a Power Klaw or a Big Choppa . The Power Klaw is particularly feared as it can tear apart even heavy vehicles.
Special Weapons: A unit of Boyz can often include one or two special weapons, such as Big Shootas (heavy machine guns) or Rokkit Launchas (rocket launchers).
📦 The miniature model
The Ork Boyz kit allows you to build 10-11 models (depending on version), including a Boss Nob and the ability to mix and match melee and firearms.
They are one of the cheapest units in the game per wound (Toughness 5 is key) and are essential for overwhelming the opponent with a massive number of green warriors.
