Nintendo DS
The Nintendo DS (NDS) , which stands for Dual Screen (or Developers' System), is a handheld game console from Nintendo, released globally in 2004. It revolutionized handheld gaming by introducing a unique design and new interaction methods.
Unique Features
Dual Screens: The most defining feature is the dual screens. The top screen displayed the main action, while the bottom screen served as a touch screen . This opened up entirely new ways to play, such as using the bottom screen for maps, inventory, or direct control with an included stylus .
Foldable design: The DS could be folded, which protected the screens from scratches during transport.
Microphone: The console had a built-in microphone, which was used in many games for voice commands or other interactions.
Backward compatibility: The original DS and DS Lite had an extra slot that allowed it to play Game Boy Advance (GBA) games .
Wireless Multiplayer: The DS supported wireless local multiplayer.
