One Piece

One Piece is a Japanese manga and anime series created by Eiichiro Oda, which follows the pirate Monkey D. Luffy on his adventure to find the legendary treasure "One Piece" and become the king of the pirates.

The series began as a manga in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1997 and has since become one of the world's most popular and longest-running comics, selling over 500 million copies globally and is considered one of the highest-grossing media franchises in history.

The story begins with Gol D. Roger , the former pirate king, revealing that his immense treasure – the One Piece – is hidden somewhere in the ocean known as the Grand Line . This inspires young Luffy to gather a crew and embark on a journey filled with dangers, mysterious islands and epic battles. After eating a devil fruit, Luffy gains the ability to stretch his body like rubber, but loses the ability to swim.

One Piece mixes action, humor, fantasy, and drama , and features a large cast of characters with unique abilities and backstories. The series has also been adapted as an anime since 1999, with over 1,100 episodes , as well as several films and games.

In 2023, a live-action version of One Piece was released on Netflix, which received positive reception and introduced the series to a new audience.
