Legionaries are the foundation and backbone of any Chaos Space Marines (CSM) army in Warhammer 40,000, in the same way that Tactical/Intercessor Squads are for Loyalist Space Marines.
Unlike the mindless Rubric Marines you asked about earlier, Legionaries are fully conscious (and psychotic) traitors who have served the Chaos gods for millennia.
🩸 Legionaries: Chaos Space Marines
Legionaries are the standard troop unit ( Battleline ) and can be customized with a wide range of weapons and equipment to fill various roles on the battlefield.

Special rules:
Chaos Undivided: They can be dedicated to one of the four Chaos gods (Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, Slaanesh) to gain a special bonus for the round, known as Marks of Chaos .
Example: If you give them the Mark of Nurgle , they become tougher to damage.
Malicious Volleys: A faction rule that gives them increased effectiveness with their Bolt weapons, such as the Boltgun, Bolt Pistol, and Combi-Weapon.

What makes Legionaries so flexible is the wide range of special weapons and specialists you can include in your unit (which is the unit of 5 or 10 models):

📦 The Miniature Model (Kit Contents)
The Standard Legionaries set is one of the best in the CSM series, as it contains parts to build almost every possible specialized model:
7 Legionaries: You can equip them with standard Boltguns.
1 Aspiring Champion: With choice of weapon.
Specialists: The set has parts to include the Heavy Bolter, Meltagun, Flamer, Plasma Gun, and a model that can be built as the Balefire Acolyte or another Specialist.
They are essential in a CSM army and can be configured to hold objectives, attack in close combat, or provide heavy gunnery support.
