Part 3 of the saga, which makes up the final chapters of arc one, is an explosive mix of intense rivalry and a shocking revelation of Team Rocket's true plan.

The league is where the strongest coaches meet to determine who is the regional champion. The tournament starts with a bang, and the focus quickly turns to the rivalry between Red and Blue:

At this point, Green (the woman who stole the Pokédex in the beginning) has finally finished her own personal challenges and joins the fight. The three rivals must now put aside their differences and join forces:

The climactic battle is between Red and Giovanni . Red is forced to use everything he has learned.

Red battles Giovanni's fearsome Ground-type Pokémon, such as Rhydon . Red ultimately wins by using his intellect to exploit the battlefield, forcing Giovanni to retreat and disband Team Rocket.

Following Giovanni's defeat and the fall of Team Rocket, Red is officially declared the Kanto Region Champion . This triumph marks the end of the first great saga.

The Legacy of Part 3

The conclusion of the Red, Blue & Green saga establishes several important elements for the future arcs:

• Red becomes a legend, but his story is far from over.

• Blue and Green take on new, important roles in Kanto.

• Even though Team Rocket is gone, the reader knows that an organization with such deep roots is unlikely to be gone for good.
