Finally! Lego Pokémon is here – but the price will make you crazy 😱

There have been rumors, hopes and long waits, but now it's official: Lego and Nintendo are finally teaming up to give us the very first Pokémon sets! After years of Mega Bloks holding the rights, Lego is now taking over the trainer role. But before you run out to "catch 'em all," you should check your bank account balance. It turns out that becoming a Lego Pokémon master requires a significant amount of "Pokédollars."

Nostalgia in every brick

The launch is timed perfectly with the franchise's 30th anniversary , and Lego is going all out with a focus on the first generation from the Kanto region. Here are the first three sets hitting shelves:

  • Eevee (587 pieces): The most affordable entry ticket. A posable model that looks amazing on the shelf.

    • Price: $60 (approx. 650–700 NOK)

  • Pikachu with Pokéball (2,050 pieces): A massive and dynamic Pikachu standing on a lightning-shaped display stand. It comes with a Pokéball, and you can even build the tail to show whether it's a male or female Pikachu!

    • Price: $200 (approx. 2,100 NOK)

  • Starter Evolution Display (6,838 pieces): This is the crown jewel. A giant set containing the latest evolutions of the original starters: Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise . Each comes with its own unique environment – jungle, lava, and waves.

    • Price: A staggering sum of $650 (over NOK 6,800!)

"Gotta Catch 'Em All"...if you can afford it?

There's no doubt that Lego is targeting adult collectors (so-called AFOLs) with these releases. While Eevee is affordable for most, the large evolution set is priced in a luxury class that will make most wallets tremble.

Pokémon has always appealed to a wide range of audiences – from children to adults – and the price tag on these first sets will likely mean that many will have to settle for just one favorite at first. Let's hope Lego plans smaller, more affordable sets in the future, so that all trainers can build their favorites.

Important dates:

  • Pre-order: Starts today!

  • Launch date: February 27, 2026.

Are you ready to empty your savings account for a brick-built Charizard, or is this going to be too expensive for plastic bricks? Either way, it's incredibly cool to finally see these two giants collaborate!
